In ISL, we believe that issues of supervision and leadership should not only be directed at people who are occupying high positions in governments, private organizations and communities, we also focus on students in tertiary institutions who are supposed to be leaders of tomorrow and who should be assisted to imbibe the principles of effective supervision and leadership from the tertiary to national levels. Since supervision and leadership are multi-disciplinary, this means that whichever discipline anyone belongs to, it is highly imperative that he/she acquires effective supervision and leadership skills.
Qualifications for registration
- To qualify for registration as a student, an applicant must be an ND holder of any discipline or be undergoing a course of study in an approved tertiary institution in the country. Matured students shall be admitted at the discretion of the Council.
- A Graduate Member is a fresh graduate from any recognized institution of higher learning.
- To become an Associate, one must have passed all the necessary examinations and must have acquired between five and fifteen years of working experience, after which he/she is qualified to use the designation “AISL” after his/ her name.
- To be a Member, one must have become an Associate for a period of at least five years or worked in a corporate organization for a period between fifteen (15) and twenty (20) years.
- To qualify as a Fellow, one must have been in top supervisory and leadership position in private or public organizations for a period of not less than twenty years and must show evidence of professional leadership within the period.
Recognised qualifications for membership
The Institute is multi-disciplinary, therefore, membership shall be granted to holders of:
HND, BSc, BA, B.Tech, MBA, M.Sc, B.(Pharm), LLB, MBBS, PhD (from recognised institutions of higher learning) and membership of any of the following professional bodies: ACCA, ACA, ACIB, CPA, ACMA, ACIS, ACII, ACTI, NSE (All classes), APCON, MCAM, AIPS, ACIM, ACIA, ACIPM, MIOD, ANAN, MCPN, ANIQS, ANITP, ACIML and other relevant professional qualifications.

Benefits of membership
The following are some of the benefits which shall become due to members of the Institute:
– All financial members shall receive the quarterly journals of the Institute
– All members shall receive membership certificates under the seal of the Institute
– All admitted financial members are entitled to receive membership year -book.
– Members have the chance of participating in supervision and leadership seminars and conferences organized locally and internationally and to share experiences with people all over the world.
– Members have the chance of belonging to professional bodies to which the Institute is affiliated and to enjoy all other ancillary benefits derived from such affiliations.

Each member shall pay to the Institute, an annual subscription fee applicable to his/her grade of membership, such as:
